For £2000, I'd demand Mr McGinnis finish colouring it in!

These prints do not look like McGinnis at all. He obviously did the original Moore pose for the LALD poster, but this illustration was most likely done by someone else. The original that these prints are taken from was sold at auction a few months ago, and was attributed to McGinnis. I think someone bought it and had these prints made and then did a deal with McGinnis to sign them. And I think even McGinnis thinks he did this many years ago. But who knows!

But why would the artist sign prints that weren't his. Makes no sense they are clearly by him. If I could afford them would def buy one :(

Peter, please do some comparisons with McGinnis excecution of the Moore pose in the LALD and TMWTHGG poster, as well as the one he did for the Moonraker paperback. The difference is striking. McGinnis` style is slightly more abstract and cartooney, not as true to life as these prints.

I also very SINCERE doubts that this is really a McGinnis painting ..... I guess that he cannot recall everything exactly what he created almost 40 years ago. This is what he stated in the text of the action lot for the original art which was sold at "Bonham's" last year. He is 86 years now.... By the way, the price for the print is RIDICULOUS ! The original artwork sold for slightly over 5,000 UK pounds....

Not McGinnis at all, beautiful recreation though, and certainly from the same era, but not Bob's work.
