What's with Dr No?

Looks like the DN image is the "Cuba"-era Connery.

For me the real WTF image is the "babe in a bag" on the CR cover.

Ah yes - I was trying to figure out what the CR cover was all about. You're right, she's in a bag.

Actually, I now agree. Before, the moustached Bond in Dr No was taking the biscuit, but now... the bag!

Deary me.

Simon.

the CR cover- i seem to recall a scene in the book (unless it was in moonraker) when the female character was tied up in her own dress and kidnapped. weird they would choose that particular image for a book cover…

Hi, from Czech! Yeah "girl in a bag" is the scene where Vesper is kidnapped after Bond's victory over Lee Chivre (scene before capture and torture of 007). This "bag" is in fact her skirt. The author was probably interest in the erotic site od this scene. Who knows.. Likewise, a man with a black eye is only an episodic character in the book. And why is Sean Connery so older on Dr. No? God only knows...
But at that time we were excited here in the Czech Republic, the book can be bought.
