Painted Cinema Advertising from Greece

The days of painted front-of-house advertising are over. But the tradition survived in Greece as these examples from "Skyfall" and "Spectre" illustrate. Thank to Anagnostis and the James Bond Greek Fans Community on FB for sharing this!

It seems strange they have just painted the poster, which they could just as easily have had sent to them from the distributor, as opposed to painting something 'original' for example...

It is a bit odd, but at least they're trying! ☺️

hi guys. this specific cinema instead of using the original labels - logos of each new movies assigns a painter to make a drawing relative to the movie. the artist is an employee of the cinema for more than 40 years . we used to make the labels initially as a hobby , but we was talented enough so the owner of the cinema hired him to work as an artist for the cinema. everything is painted on hand without using any posters etc. instead of using the official layout used by the producers for every movie he paints an alternation according to each taste . so just for the love of art we can give him a point.
