The paint just above the white box is different to the record sleeve version, perhaps suggesting that the box was later removed for the new version, perhaps by someone else?
I feel like I've seen a variant of this same art where Bond wasn't wearing shorts, too. I swear that's not a joke.
The white box was not a part of the original artwork. It was added in the reproduction process which was a very common thing to do (though by no means as easy as it is today with computer software). Reproduction was done by separating the original artwork into four-color films after which text, boxes, lines, graphics and so on could be added. Henrik
