Unused Thunderball Artwork

Unused Thunderball artwork by Robert McGinnis.The original (above) was supposedly done for Playboy magazine but never used to my knowledge.This is a restored version using the print from Thomas' Hollywood Collection and his book "Licence To Thrill".

The artwork was toned down (bottom right) and used in a Italian poster version, re-painted by Averardo Ciriello (bottom left 1) and for the production letterhead of United Artists US (bottom left 2).

More comic book covers from Zig Zag, all published in 1969. It's interesting how the artists re-used existing artwork, for example the Dr No artwork by Mitchell Hooks for the comic adaptation of Casino Royale.

I prefer painted movie posters to photo ones. Sadly the painted poster is a dying breed. I’ve always wondered what a painted poster of the newer Bond movies would look like.
Here is a draft for a Pierce Brosnan poster. It’s part of a bigger project to come.
