Never noticed that...

International 1 sheet and French poster for "Licence To Kill". I've never noticed that Dalton wears a tuxedo in some European posters compared to the black shirt in the UK and US.

Thanks to the Book Bond for making this point!

From Russia With Love Artwork

As dedicated artwork poster aficionado I was was never too keen on the US "From Russia With Love" posters. What would have happened if the producers hired Frank McCarthy in 1963? Not sure but here is an attempt of mine to create a McCarthy style artwork.
Photo and colour references I've used to create the artwork. The original is gouache on artboard, 80 x 60 cm.

24 Sheet from You Only Live Twice

Recreation of the planned 24 sheet for "You Only Live Twice" as shown in the pressbook. The concept still uses the unchanged versions of McGinnis' bath scene (check his hand) and McCarthy's original Little Nellie painting with an alternate face of Connery.

Too risky?

It appears that both the US and Australia deemed some of the images on the "Goldfinger" posters to risky and changed it. I don't own the originals but I assume that the original posters were painted over. Does anyone have a copy of the changed posters?

German Goldfinger Lobby Cards

Overview of original and reissue German lobby cards for "Goldfinger". The original set is numbered up to 35 but two cards were not released. All original cards were hand-tinted black / white photos which gives the cards an unusual character.

Searching for the Dr No Source Image

I'm searching for the the image that started it all: The photo of Sean Connery used first in the Dr No posters and was later reused in the campaign for Goldfinger. I came across the photo framed in red on the right and it looks like it could be one of them.

Does anyone have the full or more pictures of this? Thanks!

MWGG Poster Concept

Concept and final poster for "The Man With The Golden Gun" by Robert McGinnis. It appears that the concept is a reviewed version with notes and sketched alterations by the art director such as the notes for the looping car and the revised size of Nick Nack. If you look closely you can see the smaller version was covered by a larger photocopy. Thanks To Thomas and Robert for sharing!

Dr No Tribute Artwork

Artwork for an imaginary "Dr No" poster in the style of the early '60, gouache on artboard, 80x60 cm.
The project started with different sketches and colour compositions. Initally I wanted to paint Connery in a black tuxedo but a white one is suited better for the Jamaican theme.
Different stages of the painting. I've started with the faces as they are the most difficult parts to paint. Below how this might have been used.
