Oil painting by artist Kent Williams. Attributed to an issue of Playboy Magazine for a James Bond article - though I can't figure out which one. Artwork is for sale, check it out here.
Morten made me aware of an interesting fact about the artwork by McGinnis for "The Man With The Golden Gun" that he found on Dr. Shatterhand's Botanical Garden: The Kung Fu fighters in the poster were added by artist Basil Gogos as a hindsight. An attempt of re-creation below. Check out the full story on Dr. Shatterhand's Botanical Garden website.
The European advertising campaign for "From Russia With Love" established the iconic Bond pose in 1963. The Italian artist Renato Fratini created a blueprint which was adapted in many countries. I don't quite understand why the art was re-painted so many time but I like the subtle variations that this produced.
