My own, hand-painted Thunderball 3 sheet. Finished the "Look Up" artwork last night. Painting the stone floor on the left was a bit of a challenge as McCarthy actually painted individual stones in detail.
Progress stages below: I've started with the background colours and stone wall (left), added the exhaust smoke and stone floor (middle) and then figures and jet-pack flames.
Detailed cover artwork for the re-release of the John Gardner novels "License Renewed", "For Special Services" and "Icebreaker" plus the cover artwork for the Italian paperback version of "No One Lives Forever".

This is the most unusual approach for 007 advertisding that I've seen so far. I thought that some Polish posters used an unusal approach but the flying fish is something else. The Ghana poster found here.
Concept and final artwork for "A View To A Kill" by Dan Goozee. Thanks to Thomas for sharing this! Check out his Facebook page with rare original 007 art.
I've set myself the goal to reproduce all Thunderball artworks using the same materials, colours and (almost) the same formats. Just finished the Thunderball "Look Down" artwork based on Frank McCarthy's original. Sadly my digital camera does not capture the details too well, scan shows the face a bit better. Below a work-in-progress version without the air bubbles and the diver still as a sketch.Frank McCarthy's original for comparison below.
